Membership Benefits
HTCC High Tech Crime Investigator Listserv. HTCC
offers professionals an opportunity to share information with peers
via an automated email based mailing list (a “listserv”).
Access is restricted to HTCC members only, each vetted prior to
acceptance.
Over 1800 members from 37 countries are currently subscribed,
creating a vast network of subject matter experts who generously
offer assistance, advice, technical support, and commentary on
legal and procedural issues, as well as tips on investigative techniques.
Members can also learn about training opportunities, funding resources,
policy and operational development, academic programs, newly enacted
statutes, case law, and international law; new forensic and investigative
software, hardware and tools; and the impact of emerging technologies.
A keyword searchable archive is available so that members can
easily and quickly find specific subject matter information.
From operating systems to hacker intrusions, software piracy to
exploitation of children, subject matter experts are just an email
message away.
Secure, Web-based Information Sharing. When the
need arises to share sensitive information either on an individual,
organizational or group basis, members have access to an easy to
use, “need-to-know” information management system.
Requiring no client-side software beyond a web browser, a user
friendly, web-based application allows members to securely exchange
email, images, audio files and other digital documents with other
members.
Members can access a digital library containing hundreds of documents:
case law, white papers, policy and operations plans, forensic shareware,
legal boilerplates, slide presentations and more. Other features
include secure email, calendar, document management, online briefing
and threaded discussions, all of which afford HTCC members a secure
Internet environment to exchange information across the Internet.
A fully supported help desk is available to assist users if they
encounter problems.
Discounts and Opportunities. Members are offered special discount
rates from internationally recognized training providers, software
developers and conference promoters. Employers frequently request
HTCC to post job announcements. Forensic software developers often
seek assistance from HTCC members to test new products. Relevant
funding solicitations are posted as they become available.
Free Trial Membership. We are so convinced your
department will see the value of this membership, that we are offering
a limited time free trial to see for yourself. Provided they meet
membership requirements, applicants are welcome to take advantage
of member benefits at no cost for a period of 90 days after which
they will be requested to pay annual dues of $25 USD (or foreign
equivalent). Payment may be made by check or by credit card.
